PEBCAK

3D-Printing 2017

Humans make mistakes. However, in the process of crafting objects, a human being is able to correct his or her mistake in the moment of its creation. Even though it might still be visible in the end result, its quality nonetheless reveals the signature of its maker.
Machines make mistakes, too. Their inability to flexibly adapt to that, however, spawns an entirely different species of mistake – in a way more straightforward, but in a surprisingly systematic fashion.
PEBCAK is a series of 3D-printed porcelain vases that showcase such mistakes made by a machine.
